Baseball Recap: Paso Robles Victorious

The Paso Robles Bearcats made easy work of the Monache Marauders on Friday and carried off an 8-2 victory.

Marcus Garcia and Blayne Lowry made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Garcia pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lowry tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. At the plate, Garcia got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Lowry went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Garcia has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Xander Hermanson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Talen Freitas, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Paso Robles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monache only posted a batting average of .087.

Paso Robles' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Monache, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Paso Robles will take on Arroyo Grande at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monache, they will challenge Pioneer Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
