Gustine is 1-9 against Orestimba since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Gustine Reds will head out on the road to square off against the Orestimba Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Gustine took their match at home with ease, bagging a 42-15 victory over Delhi.
Meanwhile, Orestimba came tearing into Tuesday's game with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 38-18 margin over Le Grand. Orestimba has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.
Among those leading the charge was Mia Quevedo, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlynn Bell, who scored five points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Gustine pushed their record up to 6-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Orestimba, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.
Gustine took a serious blow against Orestimba in their previous matchup back in January, falling 60-15. Can Gustine avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
