It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Cary ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 31-24 win over the Willow Spring Storm. The Imps' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Nick Grena was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 109 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 passes. Erich Grena was in the mix as well, providing Cary with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cary was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 195 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Despite the loss, Willow Spring still got an impressive performance from Bryson Davis, who rushed for 169 yards while picking up 9.9 yards per carry.

Cary's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Willow Spring, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Cary has already played their next matchup, a 29-14 victory against Green Level on the 12th. As for Willow Spring, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 20-7 loss against Fuquay - Varina on the 12th.
