The Piedmont Community Charter Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Cherryville 67-29 on the road. With Piedmont Community Charter ahead 38-17 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Bobby Erwin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with five assists and three steals. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. John Carmichael was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Cherryville still got an impressive performance from Andron Patterson, who scored six points.
Cherryville struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Piedmont Community Charter racked up ten assists.
Piedmont Community Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Cherryville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season.
Piedmont Community Charter and Valor Preparatory Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Valor Preparatory Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 557th, while Piedmont Community Charter is ranked 212th). Cherryville and Shelby will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Shelby is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
