The Brandywine Heights Area Bullets had lost two consecutive heartbreakers to the Schuylkill Valley Panthers and they left with a heavy heart again on Thursday. Brandywine Heights Area fell to Schuylkill Valley 41-35. Brandywine Heights Area has not had much luck with Schuylkill Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Brandywine Heights Area's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Benner, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Dana Wartenluft, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Brandywine Heights Area bumped their record down to 4-4 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Schuylkill Valley, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Upper Perkiomen the next time they take the court. Brandywine Heights Area will head out to face Upper Perkiomen at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Schuylkill Valley will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
