If the Eastern Comets were feeling good off their 57-22 takedown of the Tipton Blue Devils last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Eastern had to suffer through a rough 54-19 loss at the hands of Delphi Community. Having soared to a lofty 57 points in the game before, Eastern couldn't push the score so high this time.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Eastern struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Delphi Community racked up 14 assists.
Delphi Community's win on Saturday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jenna Roth, who scored 12 points along with seven steals. Roth hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Maddy Brown, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Eastern has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Delphi Community, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-7.
Eastern will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Carroll at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Carroll focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Friday. As for Delphi Community, they will head out on the road to face off against Sheridan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sheridan will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
