The Porter Ridge Pirates struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Ardrey Kell Knights had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Porter Ridge fell to Ardrey Kell 53-48. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Porter Ridge has scored all season.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Miley Malcolm, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Scaldara, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds.
Ardrey Kell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Autumn Washington led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Washington's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Molly Burns was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Porter Ridge and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Ardrey Kell, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Porter Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Hickory Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hickory Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Saturday. As for Ardrey Kell, they will be playing at home against Sun Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Sun Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 42 on Wednesday.
