Weston is 0-9 against Pomperaug since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Weston Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Pomperaug Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Weston is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
Weston suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Immaculate, falling 56-29. While losing is never fun, Weston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Immaculate is ranked 21st).
Meanwhile, Pomperaug was able to grind out a solid victory over New Milford on Wednesday, taking the game 60-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pomperaug.
Weston's loss was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Pomperaug, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Weston ended up a good deal behind Pomperaug when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 51-34. Can Weston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
