McClymonds kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a hard 59-42 fall against the Venture Academy Mustangs.
Venture Academy was led to victory by Jeston Barnett and Jabril Lewis-Muhammad. Barnett almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine blocks, while Lewis-Muhammad went 8-for-13 to rack up 17 points. That's the most points Lewis-Muhammad has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayden Akuva, who shot 63% from the field en route to 11 points.
The victory got Venture Academy back to even at 1-1.
McClymonds wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-52 win against Branham on the 26th. As for Venture Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Waterford at 8:00 p.m. on the 4th.
