The Newark Memorial Cougars won the last time they faced the Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors, and things went their way on Monday too. Newark Memorial really took it to Yerba Buena for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-8 victory on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-4.
Newark Memorial can attribute much of their success to Sydney Scott, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lavina Sanft, who scored 8 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Newark Memorial and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Yerba Buena, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Newark Memorial won't have much time to rest: their next game is against American at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. As for Yerba Buena, they will head out on the road to face off against Harbor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
