Paramount is on an eight-game streak of home wins, while Long Beach Poly is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Pirates will host the Jackrabbits at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
On Monday, Paramount made easy work of Firebaugh and carried off a 9-3 win. Considering the Pirates have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Brandon Martinez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Fabricio Aguilar was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Martinez wasn't the only one making solid contact: Paramount kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Long Beach Poly got the win against Cabrillo on Thursday by a conclusive 10-2.
Tate Hammond was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Deven Munoz, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.
Paramount is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Long Beach Poly, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Paramount's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's matchup. The Pirates have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Long Beach Poly, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Paramount continue to outrun the ball?
Paramount couldn't quite get it done against Long Beach Poly in their previous meeting back in March of 2018 as they fell 7-4. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
