The Loara Saxons had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 48-30 win over Arroyo on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but Loara sure is getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
Loara found their leader in underclassman Sophia Rangel, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Rangel has scored at least a third of Loara's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Angela Ngo, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Loara is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for Arroyo, their loss dropped their record down to 12-18.
Loara didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-35 victory vs. Duarte on the 10th. Arroyo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
