In his first year playing Varsity football with Del Norte, Coty would come up with 1 Int, 1 sack be ranked 2nd on the team in total tackles(and he was a CB)and not allow a single catch against him all year. In the second game of the year against PV he would battle with the #1 WR in the state at the time,guarding him all game, Coty didnt allow a catch all game shutting the #1WR down.
