The crowd at Thursday's non-league battle between the Melrose Buffaloes (Melrose, NM) and the visiting Tucumcari Rattlers (Tucumcari, NM), saw Melrose's baseball team gain a win over Tucumcari by a tally of 17-3.

The Buffaloes (4-4) will now prepare for their battle against Floyd (Floyd, NM). The Broncos enter the A District 1 battle with a 0-4 record. In their last battle, Floyd was overwhelmed by Gateway Christian (Roswell, NM), 18-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Rattlers face the Raton Tigers (Raton, NM) in a 2A District 6 battle, on Friday, April 4. Tucumcari will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Tigers enter the battle with a 2-8 record after their 25-8 league loss to Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa, NM).
