Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Reserve Mountaineers (Reserve, NM) and the host Animas Panthers (Animas, NM), saw Reserve's basketball squad hold off Animas by a tally of 45-39.

With the victory, Reserve improves its record to 18-5 on the campaign. The Mountaineers host Carrizozo (Carrizozo, NM) to confront the Grizzlies in a A District 2 challenge on Friday, February 9. The Grizzlies come into the challenge with a record of 7-13.

Next up, the Panthers confront the Quemado Eagles (Quemado, NM) in a A District 2 challenge, on Saturday, February 10. Animas will attempt to improve on its 12-11 season record.
