Cloudcroft Bears (Cloudcroft, NM) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Capitan Tigers (Capitan, NM), 46-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Cloudcroft upgrades its record to 8-6 on the season. The Bears travel to Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM) to play the Mavericks in a 2A District 3 bout on Friday, January 28. The Mavericks go into the bout with a record of 11-2. Lordsburg won 69-67 in their recent league bout against Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM)

Next up, the Tigers play the Tularosa Wildcats (Tularosa, NM) in a 2A District 3 bout, on Saturday, January 29. Capitan will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 16-2 record after their 64-34 league win over Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM).
