Capitan Tigers (Capitan, NM) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Cloudcroft Bears (Cloudcroft, NM), 50-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Capitan upgrades its record to 2-19 on the season. The Tigers host Mesilla Valley Christian School (Las Cruces, NM) to clash with the SonBlazers in a 2A District 3 bout on Saturday, February 16. The SonBlazers go into the bout with a record of 17-6. Mesilla Valley Christian School won 76-38 in their recent league bout against Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM)

Next up, the Bears clash with the Lordsburg Mavericks (Lordsburg, NM) in a 2A District 3 bout, on Friday, February 15. Cloudcroft will attempt to upgrade on its 10-13 season record. The Mavericks go into the bout with a 7-14 record after their 62-52 league win over Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM).
