The Des Moines Demons (Des Moines, NM) basketball knocked off the host Maxwell Bears (Maxwell, NM), 56-48 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Demons (2-6) will now prepare for their test against Wagon Mound (Wagon Mound, NM). The Trojans go into the non-league test with a 3-6 record. In their last test, Wagon Mound notched a victory over Gateway Christian (Roswell, NM), 70-58, in a non-league test.

The Bears now own a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Roy Municipal Schools for a non-league test on Saturday, January 4. Maxwell will encounter a Longhorns squad coming off a 58-32 non-league loss to Santa Fe Waldorf (Santa Fe, NM). The Longhorns record now stands at 3-5.
