Hagerman Bobcats (Hagerman, NM) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Tatum Coyotes (Tatum, NM), 45-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hagerman upgrades its record to 12-3 on the season. The Bobcats travel to Jal (Jal, NM) to encounter the Panthers in a 2A District 7 bout on Friday, January 23. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 6-11. Jal lost 45-37 in their recent non-league bout against Pecos (Pecos, TX)

Next up, the Coyotes encounter the Mescalero Apache Chiefs (Mescalero, NM) in a 1A District 8 bout, on Friday, January 23. Tatum will attempt to upgrade on its 9-7 season record. The Chiefs go into the bout with a 1-8 record after their 96-25 non-league loss to Tularosa (Tularosa, NM).
