Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hatch Valley Bears (Hatch, NM) and the visiting Socorro Warriors (Socorro, NM), saw Hatch Valley's basketball squad knock off Socorro by a count of 71-53.

With the victory, Hatch Valley upgrades its record to 13-9 on the campaign. The Bears host Ruidoso (Ruidoso, NM) to play the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 7. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 8-13. Ruidoso won 52-45 in their recent league challenge against New Mexico Military Institute (Roswell, NM)

Next up, the Warriors play the Cobre Indians (Bayard, NM) in a 4A District 3 challenge, on Monday, February 9. Socorro will attempt to upgrade on its 10-12 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 11-9 record after their 60-46 non-league win over Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM).
