Jal Panthers (Jal, NM) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Tatum Coyotes (Tatum, NM), 63-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Jal upgrades its record to 8-8 on the season. The Panthers travel to Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM) to play the Bears in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Bears go into the bout with a record of 4-8. Cloudcroft lost 41-35 in their recent non-league bout against Mesilla Valley Christian School (Las Cruces, NM)

Next up, the Coyotes play the Eunice Cardinals (Eunice, NM) in a 2A District 4 bout, on Friday, January 26. Tatum will attempt to upgrade on its 1-17 season record. The Cardinals go into the bout with a 13-5 record after their 58-23 non-league win over Gateway Christian (Roswell, NM).
