Wagon Mound Trojans (Wagon Mound, NM) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Mora Rangers/Rangerettes (Mora, NM), 57-55 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Wagon Mound upgrades its record to 8-9 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Mosquero (Mosquero, NM) to play the Pirates in a B District 1 bout on Saturday, February 8. The Pirates come into the bout with a record of 2-15.

Next up, the Rangers/Rangerettes play the Pecos Panthers (Pecos, NM) in a 2A District 2 bout, on Thursday, February 6. Mora will attempt to upgrade on its 7-13 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 6-15 record after their 69-43 league loss to Santa Fe Prep (Santa Fe, NM).
