The Roy Municipal Schools Longhorns basketball team (Roy, NM), was overwhelmed 63-28 in Saturday's league battle with the visiting Springer Red Devils (Springer, NM)

The Red Devils now possess a 20-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cimarron for a 1A District 5 battle on Friday, February 19. Springer will battle a Rams team coming off a 65-56 non-league win over Coronado (Gallina, NM). The Rams record now stands at 12-12.

The Longhorns (3-16) will now prepare for their battle against Maxwell (Maxwell, NM). The Bears come into the 1A District 5 battle with a 17-5 record. In their last battle, Maxwell trounced Des Moines (Des Moines, NM), 89-45, in a league battle.
