The Cloudcroft Bears (Cloudcroft, NM) basketball felled the visiting Mescalero Apache Chiefs (Mescalero, NM), 66-49 in Saturday's league test.

The Bears (18-6) will now prepare for their test against Dora (Dora, NM). The Coyotes go into the non-league test with a 17-10 record. In their last test, Dora was beaten by Floyd (Floyd, NM), 62-59, in a non-league test.

The Chiefs now own a 13-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Floyd for a non-league match on Friday, March 8. Mescalero Apache will meet a Broncos team coming off a 51-25 non-league loss to Tatum (Tatum, NM). The Broncos record now stands at 16-12.
