Aztec Tigers (Aztec, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Miyamura Patriots (Gallup, NM), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 15-5 record. They take the field next when they host Miyamura for a 5A District 1 challenge on Friday, April 1. Aztec will battle a Patriots squad coming off a 17-2 non-league loss to Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM). The Patriots record now stands at 9-4.

With the loss, Miyamura falls to 9-6 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Aztec (Aztec, NM) to battle the Tigers in a 5A District 1 challenge on Friday, April 1. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 13-5. Aztec won 6-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Valencia (Los Lunas, NM)
