New Mexico High School Softball - Belen bounces Santa Teresa
Belen Eagles (Belen, NM) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Santa Teresa Desert Warriors (Santa Teresa, NM), 12-2 in a league challenge.
The Eagles now sport a 6-9 record. They take the field next when they host Valencia for a 5A District 3 challenge on Thursday, April 2. Belen will face a Jaguars squad coming off a 17-0 league win over Chaparral (Chaparral, NM). The Jaguars record now stands at 7-8.
With the loss, Santa Teresa falls to 2-14 on the campaign. The Desert warriors host Los Lunas (Los Lunas, NM) to face the Tigers in a 5A District 3 challenge on Thursday, April 2. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 12-5. Los Lunas lost 11-5 in their recent league challenge against Centennial (Las Cruces, NM)
