Hobbs Eagles (Hobbs, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Clovis Wildcats (Clovis, NM), 7-2 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 9-10 record. They take the field next when they host Carlsbad for a 5A District 4 challenge on Friday, April 19. Hobbs will battle a Cavemen squad coming off a 9-5 non-league win over Rio Rancho (Rio Rancho, NM). The Cavemen record now stands at 15-3.

With the loss, Clovis falls to 3-12 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Roswell (Roswell, NM) to battle the Coyotes in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 18. The Coyotes enter the challenge with a record of 9-11. Roswell lost 10-0 in their recent league challenge against Artesia (Artesia, NM)
