Valley Vikings (Albuquerque, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Clovis Wildcats (Clovis, NM), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Carlsbad for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 25. Valley will battle a Cavemen squad coming off a 13-0 non-league win over Farmington (Farmington, NM). The Cavemen record now stands at 7-2.

With the loss, Clovis falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Rio Rancho (Rio Rancho, NM) to battle the Rams in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 25. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 7-7. Rio Rancho won 11-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Gallup (Gallup, NM)
