Grants Pirates (Grants, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Miyamura Patriots (Gallup, NM), 7-6 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 8-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Belen for a 4A District 6 challenge on Tuesday, April 8. Grants will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 8-1 league loss to Valencia (Los Lunas, NM). The Eagles record now stands at 7-12.

With the loss, Miyamura falls to 6-10 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Los Lunas (Los Lunas, NM) to clash with the Tigers in a 4A District 6 game on Tuesday, April 8. The Tigers come into the game with a record of 12-4. Los Lunas won 6-4 in their recent league game against Gallup (Gallup, NM)
