The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM) and the host Moriarty Fighting Pintos (Moriarty, NM), saw Shiprock's softball squad nip Moriarty by a count of 15-12.

The Chieftains now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Aztec for a non-league match on Friday, March 14. Shiprock will face a Tigers squad coming off a 10-2 non-league win over Hope Christian (Albuquerque, NM). The Tigers record now stands at 4-0.

With the loss, Moriarty falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Fighting pintos host Los Alamos (Los Alamos, NM) to face the Hilltoppers in a non-league test on Tuesday, March 11. The Hilltoppers come into the test with a record of 1-4. Los Alamos lost 4-0 in their recent non-league test against San Juan (Blanding, UT)
