Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Newcomb Sky Hawks (Newcomb, NM), 20-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kirtland Central for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 5. Tohatchi will face a Broncos squad coming off a 14-6 non-league win over Ganado (Ganado, AZ). The Broncos record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, Newcomb falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Sky hawks travel to Shiprock (Shiprock, NM) to face the Chieftains in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. The Chieftains enter the challenge with a record of 2-8. Shiprock lost 4-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM)
