The Newcomb Skyhawks routed the host Zuni Thunderbirds softball squad by a final score of 16-0 in Tuesday's league battle.

The Skyhawks (16-7) will now prepare for their battle against Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM). The Cougars go into the 3A District 1 battle with a 7-13 record. In their last battle, Tohatchi notched a victory over Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM), 15-5, in a league battle.

The Thunderbirds now possess a 4-18 record. They play next when they host Grants for a non-league battle on Friday, May 3. Zuni will confront a Pirates squad coming off a 20-0 league loss to Belen (Belen, NM). The Pirates record now stands at 6-18.
