In Thursday's league battle, the host Mescalero Apache Chiefs volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Cloudcroft Bears.

The Chiefs (8-7) will now prepare for their battle against Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM). The Mavericks come into the 2A District 3 battle with a 1-13 record. In their last battle, Lordsburg went down by Mesilla Valley Christian School (Las Cruces, NM), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Bears encounter the Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers (Las Cruces, NM) in a 2A District 3 battle, on Saturday, October 15. Cloudcroft will attempt to move on its 5-9 season record. The SonBlazers come into the battle with a 14-1 record after their 3-0 league win over Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM).
