With the win, Melrose upgrades its record to 3-0 on the year. The Buffaloes travel to Tatum (Tatum, NM) to play the Coyotes in a non-league bout on Thursday, September 22. The Coyotes go into the bout with a record of 3-2.

The Cardinals now own a 3-1 record. They play next when they travel to Tatum for a 2A District 4 bout on Friday, September 2. Eunice will play a Coyotes squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Lovington (Lovington, NM). The Coyotes record now stands at 3-1.
