Coaches Game Summary

Hilltoppers ride their brand of block and pound ball to a 3-1 victory over District opponent Moriarty. The Toppers look to District play as "THE SEASON" and know it is all about controlling their destiny in District 2-4A. The Topper front row delivered with 19 blocks for kills led by Natalie Gallegos with 7 and Michaela Gonzales and Nadia Gallegos with 4 each. In addition the Hilltoppers pounded the ball all night at the Pintos with 51 total kills from the heavy hands of Natalie Gallegos, Eden Schmierer, Michaela Gonzales, Elise Olivas and Ariel Edkin. Edkin came alive in the middle and dominated in her rotations.

The back row of Gracie Swensen, Tori Maestas, Bella Aguilar and Eden Schmierer found their groove in sets 2, 3 and 4 getting Elise Olivas much needed "3" balls to deliver to her eager hitters. Most impressive was Olivas and her decision making. Los Alamos will work on serving as they missed 12 serves in the 4 sets as they prepare for Espanola next week.
