Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) and the visiting Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM), observed Tohatchi's volleyball team top Newcomb by a tally of 3-0.

The Cougars (11-3) will now prepare for their contest against Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM). The Bears enter the 3A District 1 contest with a 0-11 record. In their last contest, Wingate was beaten by Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Skyhawks meet the Crownpoint Eagles (Crownpoint, NM) in a 3A District 1 contest, on Saturday, October 11. Newcomb will attempt to improve on its 2-12 season record. The Eagles go into the test with a 9-4 record after their 3-2 league win over Zuni (Zuni, NM).
