Beacon Bulldogs (Beacon, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Brewster Bears (Brewster, NY), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Somers for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 2.

With the loss, Brewster falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Bears host Carmel (Carmel, NY) to face the Rams in a Section 1 I - A challenge on Tuesday, April 12. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Carmel won 9-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Kennedy Catholic (Somers, NY)
