Ohio High School Basketball - Barnesville topples Martins Ferry
In Saturday's non-league contest, the Barnesville Shamrocks (Barnesville, OH) basketball team thwarted the visiting Martins Ferry Purple Riders (Martins Ferry, OH), by a score of 78-66.
The Shamrocks now sport a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Shenandoah for a Ohio Valley AA contest on Tuesday, February 11. Barnesville will battle a Zeps team coming off a 75-40 non-league win over Wood County Christian (Williamstown, WV). The Zeps record now stands at 12-7.
The Purple Riders (9-7) will now prepare for their contest against Toronto (Toronto, OH). The Red Knights come into the Eastern Ohio contest with a 8-11 record. In their last contest, Toronto was defeated by Indian Creek (Wintersville, OH), 51-38, in a league contest.
