Landen Murphy has been named player of the year. "Landen, the junior WR/DE, is given Team OPOY honors as well as first team ALL-MVC Scarlet honors for his efforts this fall. While an injury against CHCA ended his season on a sour note, that doesn't take away the flashes of pure dominance he displayed during the year! To start, Landen caught 20 passes for 298 yards and 7 TD's (14.9 AVG) He had a reception in all 8 games he played this year. He saved his best for MVC foes, with 5 of his 7 touchdowns coming in the 3 conference games he played in. That's on only 7 catches by the way. He had 3 games with 2 or more touchdown catches (Indian Hill, Summit, CHCA) with the latter two being back to back! On the defensive side of the ball, Landen created plenty of disruption in his first look at DE and made some momentous plays at key times. He gathered 12 tackles, 9 solo, with a pair of sacks and pass knockdowns, 3 TFL's, and a fumble recovery! He had the game ending fumble recovery against Hughes which gave RB a 3-0 start to the campaign! "
