Michael Thomas has been named player of the year. "Michael, the Junior Offensive and Defensive Tackle, is awarded Team DPOY honors as well as First Team All-MVC Scarlet honors with his play in the trenches. With him being one of many key players having his season cut short due to injury, the Spartans faded down the stretch. Thomas was one of the key components of a young Spartans offense that looks to be much stronger next year! Big Mike as he's called stepped into the Right Tackle role, not only holding down the fort, but playing exceptionally well with his share of highlight worthy pancake blocks! He was also a monster at Defensive Tackle. He led Roger Bacon in Sacks and Tackles for loss (3.0, 7.0), as he was near the top of the Scarlet Division in each of those categories! "
