Kayla Richard has been named player of the year. "Kayla had an outstanding season both on the mound and at the plate. She was 25-4 with 8 shutouts with a 1.03 ERA. Kayla had 176 K's with only 22 walks issued and only gave up an astonishing 3 extra base hits. On offense, she hit .449 with 47 runs scored, 48 hits, 25 RBI with 6 doubles, 6 triples, and 2 HR, and also had 22 stolen bases. At the state tournament, Kayla did not allow an earned run through 17 innings of work! Kayla was named the Maxpreps Player of the Game 8 times this season. She earned the Players MVP award, as well as the Coaches MVP award. Congratulations Kayla!!"
