Girard Indians (Girard, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Salem Quakers (Salem, OH), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now own a 4-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to McKinley for a Northeast Eight Athletic challenge on Monday, April 29. Girard will battle a Red Dragons squad coming off a 12-1 non-league loss to Harding (Warren, OH). The Red Dragons record now stands at 1-14.

With the loss, Salem falls to 5-11 on the campaign. The Quakers host Marlington (Alliance, OH) to battle the Dukes in a Eastern Buckeye challenge on Tuesday, April 30. The Dukes enter the challenge with a record of 17-3.
