In Thursday's non-league outing, the Sperry Pirates (Sperry, OK) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Miami Wardogs (Miami, OK), by a count of 69-41.

The Pirates (4-0) will now prepare for their outing against Verdigris (Claremore, OK). The Cardinals come into the Will Rogers challenge with a 4-0 record. In their last challenge, Verdigris bounced Sequoyah (Tahlequah, OK), 64-56, in a non-league challenge.

Next up, the Wardogs play the Vinita Hornets (Vinita, OK) in a Verdigris Valley challenge, on Tuesday, December 15. Miami will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Hornets come into the challenge with a 4-1 record after their 62-57 league loss to Pryor (Pryor, OK).
