Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Burns Hilanders (Burns, OR) and the visiting Riverside Pirates (Boardman, OR), saw Burns's basketball squad hold off Riverside by a count of 56-49.

With the victory, Burns upgrades its record to 15-6 on the campaign. The Hilanders host Nyssa (Nyssa, OR) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A Eastern Oregon challenge on Friday, February 8. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 3-15.

The Pirates now own a 13-8 record. They play next when they host McLoughlin for a non-league test on Tuesday, February 5. Riverside will encounter a Pioneers squad coming off a 81-29 league loss to Baker (Baker City, OR). The Pioneers record now stands at 2-15.
