The Sheldon Irish basketball team scored 56 points and held the host South Eugene Axemen to 51 in the Irish league triumph on Saturday.

The Irish now sport a 9-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Roseburg for a 6A Southwest contest on Tuesday, January 13. Sheldon will meet a Indians team coming off a 73-56 league loss to South Medford (Medford, OR). The Indians record now stands at 1-8.

The Axemen (6-7) will now prepare for their bout against Grants Pass (Grants Pass, OR). The Cavemen come into the 6A Southwest bout with a 5-5 record. In their last bout, Grants Pass was edged by North Medford (Medford, OR), 80-48, in a league bout.
