Sheldon Irish (Eugene, OR) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Thurston Colts (Springfield, OR), 49-48 in a league bout.

With the win, Sheldon upgrades its record to 10-7 on the season. The Irish travel to Roseburg (Roseburg, OR) to play the Indians in a 6A Southwest bout on Friday, February 6. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 6-12. Roseburg lost 60-46 in their recent league bout against North Medford (Medford, OR)

Next up, the Colts play the South Medford Panthers (Medford, OR) in a 6A Southwest bout, on Friday, February 6. Thurston will attempt to upgrade on its 8-14 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 12-5 record after their 60-45 league win over Grants Pass (Grants Pass, OR).
