The crowd at Wednesday's league bout between the Bend Lava Bears (Bend, OR) and the host Summit Storm (Bend, OR), observed Bend's softball squad top Summit by a tally of 16-1.

Next, the Lava Bears meet the Mountain View Cougars (Bend, OR) in a 5A Intermountain test, on Friday, May 16. Bend will attempt to advance on its 14-10 season record. The Cougars go into the test with a 12-12 record after their 11-6 league win over Ridgeview (Redmond, OR).

The Storm (2-16) will now prepare for their test against Caldera (Bend, OR). The go into the 5A Intermountain test with a 11-12 record. In their last test, Caldera toppled Redmond (Redmond, OR), 17-1, in a league test.
