Jabbar Shy has been named player of the year. "The Senior PG is really a coach's dream. Since 9th grade, he's been a gym rat. Normally the first player to arrive and one of the last to leave. His hard work and effort helped him average 10 points, five assist, three rebounds and two steals per game. Jabbar has an unccannny ability to get his team up for big games and he always came up big for the Speedboys. As the primary ball handler and distributor, he had a lot of pressure on him to get the ball to other in every situation possible and he did it with ease. Jabbar Shy's court presence and basketball I.Q is way beyond his years. I have asked this young man, for four years, to sacrifice his ability to score the basketball in order to help get his teammates in the game and he never once complained about it. This year he took on the challenge of leading a brand new team and did a fantastic job. He and Rashaan Perrin were the only remaining players for last year's team. It has really been an honor to coach this dynamic young man!"
