Westerly Bulldogs (Westerly, RI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host East Greenwich Avengers (East Greenwich, RI), 4-2 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Johnston for a Division 2 challenge on Monday, April 17.

With the loss, East Greenwich falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Avengers host Shea (Pawtucket, RI) to face the Raiders in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 5. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Shea won 6-3 in their recent league challenge against Rogers (Newport, RI)
