In Friday's league match, the visiting Sumter Fighting Gamecocks basketball team scored a tight 57-55 triumph over the Socastee Braves.
In their next game, the Fighting Gamecocks meet the Carolina Forest Panthers (Myrtle Beach, SC) in a AAAAA Region VI match, on Tuesday, February 6. Sumter will attempt to move on its 14-6 season record. The Panthers enter the match with a 7-12 record after their 48-41 league loss to Conway (Conway, SC).
